Graded GOOD 30 by SGC (submitted by REA). Modestly graded Ty Cobb (red background) card from the legendary T206 White Border set. The T206 portrait of Ty Cobb set against a brilliant red background is considered by many collectors to be his single most classic card. It is one of the most recognizable and popular of all vintage baseball cards. The offered example has evenly rounded corners, an extremely bold red background, a couple creases in the lower portion of the card, and slightly out-of-focus registration (a natural printing flaw as made). The Sweet Caporal reverse is boldly printed and displays moderate soiling. This is a solid low-grade example of one of Cobb's most famous cards from the premier tobacco issue of the 1910 era that, while not costing a fortune, is and will always be a true vintage-card collecting classic. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
