Collection of fifty-seven different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated VG/EX 50 by SGC (except for one VG/EX+ 55 as noted). All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. This lot consists of the following: Needham, Nicholls/hands on knees, Oakes, O'Hara/New York, Oldring/fielding, Overall/hand face level, Overall/hands waist level, Owen, Pastorious, Pattee, Payne, Pfeister/seated, Phelps, Phillippe, Powell, Powers, Purtell, Quinn, Raymond, Reulbach/glove showing, Rhoades/right arm extended (VG/EX+ 55), Schmidt/throwing, Schulte/back view, Scott, Seymour/batting, Seymour/throwing, A. Shaw, Schaeffer/Detroit, Schlei/catching, Sheckard/no glove showing, F Smith/F. Smith on front, F. Smith/white cap, Ha. Smith, Snodgrass/batting, Snodgrass/catching, Spencer, Stahl/no glove shows, Stanage, Starr, Steinfeldt/with bat, Stephens, Street/catching, Summers, B. Sweeney, J. Sweeney, J. Tannehill, L. Tannehill/L. Tannehill on front, Thomas, Warhop, D. White/pitching, Wilhelm/hands at chest, Willett, Willetts, Williams, Wilson, Wiltse/pitching, and Zimmermann. This is a very impressive group that would make a significant contribution to the completion of an exceptional high-quality set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades is $4,845. Total: 57 cards. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000++.
