Collection of fifty-one different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated VG/EX 50 by SGC, comprised exclusively of portraits. Portraits are a very distinctive and popular subset of T206, making this collection a particularly striking assemblage of high-grade T206 cards. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. This lot consists of the following: Abstein, Ames, Atz, J. Barry, Beaumont, Bescher, Bowerman, Bradley, Bridwell/no cap, Bridwell/with cap, Crandall/no cap, Criger, Devlin, Dooin, L. Doyle, Dygert, Doolin, Dougherty, Easterly, Egan, Fiene, F. Jones, T. Jordan, Killian, Kling, Knight, Krause, Latham, Leach, Lobert, Mattern, M. McIntyre, Mullen, Murray, Overall, Parent, Perring, Rhodes, Rossman, Rucker, Seymour, Spade, Steinfeldt, Stone, Stovall, Street, Sullivan, Turner, Unglaub, Weimer, and D. White. This is a very impressive group that would make a significant contribution to the completion of an extremely high quality set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades is $4,335. Total: 51 cards. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000++.
