Collection of sixteen different T206 White Border tobacco cards, each graded and encapsulated EX 60 by SGC and comprised exclusively of portraits. Portraits are a very distinctive and popular subset of T206, making this collection a particularly striking assemblage of high-grade T206 cards. All have Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This is part of a larger collection of T206 cards, which we have broken down into several smaller lots organized by condition. This lot consists of the following: Barger, Batch, Dahlen/Boston, F. Delehanty, Donovan, Durham, Elberfeld/New York, Herzog/Boston, Howell, D. Jones, Lumley, Magee, Merkle, Schmidt, Titus, and Wiltse/portrait no cap. This is a very impressive group that would make a significant contribution to the completion of an exceptional high-quality set. The fact that all are in the identical grade, a grade which many believe offers one of the very best values for cards from the classic T206 series, in addition to all being portraits, makes this is a particularly noteworthy collection. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grades is $2,295. Total: 16 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++.
