Near-complete set of this significant basketball issue consisting of sixty-two different cards (out of sixty-six), entirely graded and encapsulated by PSA. Missing only #3 Baylor, 8 Chamberlain, 36 Robertson, and 43 West for completion (all of which appear individually in this auction). The 1961-1962 Fleer basketball set is one of the very few basketball sets issued during this era. It is loaded with Hall of Famers and stars. It is also extremely tough to assemble in high grade, as numerous flaws, including centering and print quality, plague the issue. This is a remarkable near-complete set in which all cards grade MINT 9 (three) or NM-MT 8 (fifty-nine). This near-complete set forms the foundation for the twelfth-ranked set on the PSA Set Registry, which has a 8.04 overall GPA when the four NM-MT 8 examples of Baylor, Chamberlain, Robertson, and West, are included.
