Program from the 1924 Rose Bowl, held on January 1st in Pasadena, California. Its Rose Bowl significance notwithstanding, the offered program is also notable for its unique football-shaped design. The 1924 Rose Bowl matched the U.S. Naval Academy (5-1-2) against the University of Washington (8-1) and marked the first post-season bowl game for either school. Four quarters proved to be insufficient in determining a victor, with the game ending in a 14-14 tie. The lavishly illustrated sixteen-page program (6.5 x 9.5 inches) is not scored and displays light discoloration on the back cover; otherwise in Near Mint condition. Reserve $200. Estimate (open).
