Presented is an extremely attractive example of the very first football card from the very popular and colorful set of fifty N162 Goodwin Champions, issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen. Encapsulated as Authentic by SGC due to a slight trim, the card presents as Vg-Ex from the front. It is bright and crisp, with brilliant colors, near-perfect centering, and light touches of wear at the four corners. The reverse, which features a boldly printed checklist for the set, displays a few small spots of paper loss, which would ultimately cause the card to grade modestly. Still, despite its assigned grade, this is a very sharp-looking example of one of the most important cards in its respective set and one of the most famous football cards of the era. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+.
