Collection of four Habana Cuban-League pennants and silk banner dating from the 1940s and 1950s. Cuban-League items are exceedingly rare. We have never handled any of these items before and the the fact that they were issued in support of the Habana club, which was one of the oldest and most successful franchises in Cuban-League history, makes them especially desirable. It should be noted that this collection has been consigned by an extremely dedicated Cuban-baseball historian and is one of several Cuban/Mexican/Negro League lots originating from him in this auction. 1) 1952 silk banner. the multicolor banner features the Habana lion holding a large ball that is lettered "Club Habana Champion Serie Del Caribe." The year "1952" is stitched in white below the ball. 23.25 x 33.5 inches. Vg, with moderate staining. 2) Pennant dated "1947-48." 27.25 inches. Vg-Ex, with one of the tassels clipped. 3) Pennant reading "La Lena Roja/Tarda: Pero Llego." 27.5 inches. Gd, with clipped tip and a number of tears. 4) Pennant reading "Campeon 1950 al 51." 28.5 inches. Gd, with small tears and numerous tack holes throughout. 5) Tiny pennant. 3.75 inches. Vg-Ex.
