The original International News Photos paper caption is affixed to the reverse, which reads in part: "First posed picture of Yanks since winning pennant." The Yankees defeated their crosstown rivals, the New York Giants, in six games in the 1936 World Series, thus marking the start of four consecutive World Championships for the "Bronx Bombers." The photo (10 x 6 inches) displays a few light surface wrinkles (most only visible when viewed at certain angles, and is otherwise in apparent Excellent condition. Matted and framed (with double-sided glass so that the news caption can be read) to total dimensions of 16 x 12 inches. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
