Collection of nine Hillerich & Bradsby store-model player-endorsed bats, including Babe Ruth (two examples), Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle. Unless otherwise noted, all of the bats feature the respective player's stamped facsimile signature on the barrel. 1) Circa 1920s Babe Ruth 40K "Kork Grip" bat. The cork along the handle has been restored. Moderate-to-heavy use, including a chipped knob. 33.5 inches. 2) Circa 1920s Babe Ruth 40 B.R. bat. Moderate-to-heavy use, including a few small pieces of wood loss on the reverse of the barrel. 3) Lou Gehrig 125 L.G. bat. Moderate-to-heavy use, including many cleat marks and a crack in the handle that has been repaired by thirteen small nails. Length of bat stamped on knob. 36 inches. 4) circa 1940s Joe DiMaggio 125 bat. Light-to-moderate use. Length of bat stamped on knob. 35 inches. 5) Circa late 1960s/early 1970s Mickey Mantle 125 bat. "Flame Tempered" stamped to the right of the center brand. "MM5" stamped on knob. Moderate-to-heavy use, including a few small barrel cracks. 35 inches. 6) Circa 1920s Al Simmons 40 A.S. bat. "Bone Rubbed" is stamped to the right of the center brand. Moderate-to-heavy use, including two white-painted rings to the left of the center brand. Length of the bat stamped on the knob. 33 inches. 7-9) Three "Leader No. 9" bats: "Joe DiMaggio Model," "Joe Cronin Model," and "Tommy Holmes Model." All of the player's names are stamped in block letters on the barrel. The DiMaggio bat displays light use, while the Cronin and Holmes bats displays moderate-to-heavy use. The Holmes bat has the number "2" painted on the knob. All measure 35 inches in length. Total: 9 bats. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000.
