This collection of early 1900s catcher's and umpire's gear is comprised of masks, chest protectors, and shin guards. The umpire's gear consists of a Spalding mask, a large chest protector (manufacturer's stamping very faded; possibly D&M), and a pair of red-and-black shin guards. All display heavy wear, with the mask having a number of tears to the interior padding. In Good to Very Good condition overall. The catcher's gear is comprised of three masks (one manufactured by Winchester Sporting Goods) and two chest protectors (one manufactured by Winchester Sporting Goods). Also included in the collection are a pair of vintage Max Carey endorsed sliding pads ("No Strawberry Pad"). All display heavy use and are in Good condition overall. Total: 9 items (3 chest protectors, 4 masks, pair of shin guards, and pair of sliding pads). Reserve $200. Estimate $500+.
