Fold-over scorecard issued for a National League game between the New York Giants and St. Louis Maroons at the Polo Grounds in 1885. The preprinted lineups include O'Rourke, Connor, Ward, Dorgan, Gillespie, and Easterbrook for New York, and Glassock, Dunlap, Shafer, and McKinnon for St. Louis. Neatly scored in pencil to record a 10-9 Giants victory. Research indicates that this game took place on May 30th and was the first game of a doubleheader. The year, "1885," is printed on the front cover, while the back cover announces the upcoming baseball games at the Polo Grounds for the week. The scorecard (7.25 x 5.75 inches; unfolded) displays an area of paper loss along the top of the St. Louis scoring page, as well as surface paper loss and paper residue on the back cover from having once been mounted in an album. In Good condition overall. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+.
