Official National League (Heydler) ball signed in black fountain pen by ten major league stars from the 1930s, including five future Hall of Famers. The signatures appearing on this ball are those of Rogers Hornsby, Gabby Hartnett, Johnny Mize, KiKi Cuyler, Frankie Frisch, Lon Warneke (sweet spot), Billy Jurges, Guy Bush, Bob O'Farrel, and one other (illegible). Signatures range from "3" to "8," averaging "6." This ball dates to the 1928-1933 manufacturing period, but was either signed at a later date or over a period of time, because Johnny Mize did not enter the league until 1936. All of the players represented here spent time with either the Cardinals or Cubs during some portion of their respective careers. The ball is moderately toned, with a few minor abrasions and small areas of discoloration. In Good to Very Good condition. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500+.
