13% Nr/Mt, 64% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 23% Vg to Vg-Ex (including some lower). Presented is an extremely attractive partial set of 1956 Topps baseball consisting of 262 different cards (out of 340 in a complete set) plus two checklists. The 1956 Topps set features all the Hall of Famers and stars of the era, many of which are in the offered collection, including Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, Ted Williams, and Willie Mays. Consigned by the family of the original owner. We have submitted eight cards to be professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC. Keys: #1 Harridge (Ex), 2 Giles (Vg-Ex), 5 Williams (VG/EX+ 55), 20 Kaline (Ex), 30 Robinson (EX/NM 80), 31 Aaron (EX 60), 33 Clemente (EX 60), 79 Koufax (EX 60), 101 Campanella (Vg-Ex+), 107 Mathews (Ex-Mt), 109 Slaughter (95/5 T/B, otherwise Ex), 110 Berra (Vg-Ex), 118 Fox (NM 84), 130 Mays (EX 60), 135 Mantle (VG+ 45), 145 Hodges (Vg-Ex+), 150 Snider (miscut top edge, otherwise Ex-Mt), 164 Killebrew (Ex), 165 Schoendienst (Vg-Ex), 166 Dodgers (Ex), 187 Wynn (Ex+), 194 Irvin (Ex-Mt), 195 Kell (Ex), 200 Feller (25/75 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 240 Ford (Ex+), 250 Doby (Ex-Mt+), 251 Yankees (Vg+), 255 Lemon (Ex+), 260 Reese (Ex), 307 Wilhelm (85/15 T/B, otherwise Ex-Mt+), 1/3 Checklist (pen marked, otherwise Vg), and 2/4 Checklist (pen marked, otherwise Vg). Many of the cards within this partial set appear better than their technically accurate assigned grades suggest, with just insignificant light corner wear and the typical number of cards with centering issues accounting for the downgrades. This is a beautiful, very consistent, extremely attractive partial set of this classic issue. The equivalent SMR value for just six of the graded cards (excluding the Mantle and Williams as well as the 256 ungraded cards!) is $785. Total: 264 cards. Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+.
