1911 T205 Gold Border Eddie Collins (Mouth Open) PSA NM-MT 8 - 1 of 1 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $10,665

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Exceptional ultra high-grade T205 "Gold Border" example of Hall of Famer Eddie Collins (open mouth variation). This card is by far the rarer of the two Eddie Collins variations and since the days of Jefferson Burdick has always been recognized as one of the key rare cards of the T205 set. This is the ONLY example graded at this impressive level with none higher out of 117 evaluated to date. For all subjects, of the 28,988 T205 Gold Borders graded in the history of PSA to date, only 180 have graded PSA 8, with just 8 cards (four NM-MT+ 8.5 and four MINT 9) grading higher which makes this significant T205 Hall of Famer all the more noteworthy. Bright, crisp, and clean, with brilliant colors, and an almost three-dimensional image. Flawless gold borders, near-perfect registration, and four sharp corners with just the slightest hint of wear on the extreme tips. The reverse of the card is also perfectly clean, centered to the top right with bold blue text, advertising for Piedmont Cigarettes, and without even a hint of tobacco staining. This is a very sharp ultra high-grade T205 key card and Hall of Famer example. SMR value for the assigned graded is $8,000.Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000++. SOLD FOR $10,665
