1940-1969 New York Yankees Scorecard Collection (80) with Maris and Mantle Home Run Games From 1961!

This extremely substantial collection of eighty New York Yankees programs, spanning the years 1940 through 1969, is highlighted by eight that record Mantle home runs, including one from his 1956 Triple Crown season, and three that record Roger Maris home runs dating from his record-breaking 1961 season (all of the home-run games and dates are duly noted in the listing). Sixty of the eighty programs have been scored, with many displaying handwritten notations on the cover detailing the particulars of the game (date, score, home runs, winning pitcher, etc.). The years featured in this collection, with the number of programs for that particular year (if more than one) noted in parenthesis, are the following: 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943 (2), 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947 (2), 1948 (2), 1949 (2), 1950, 1951 (2; one with a blank scoring section), 1952 (2; one with the scoring page missing), 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956 (scored to record Mantle's 44th home run of the season in a 4-2 loss to the White Sox on August 25th, which was also Yankees Old Timers' Day), 1957, 1958, 1959 (from September 9th; "Yogi Berra Day"), 1960 (2), 1961 (4; all scored for either Maris or Mantle home-run games: Mantle's 52nd home run on September 8th [this was the game during which Mantle and Maris tied Ruth and Gehrig for the most combined home runs by two teammates in a single season, with 107]; Maris' 31st home run on July 4th, Maris' 52nd and 53rd home runs on September 2nd; and Maris' 55th home run on September 5th), 1962 (8, one records both a Mantle and Maris home-run game on June 28th, while another records a Maris home-run game on June 27th), 1963 (3; all are scored. Two record a Mantle home-run game and are accompanied by the ticket stub from the game. The first is from the May 15th game against the Twins in which Mantle hit one home run; the other is from the May 21st game against the A's in which Mantle hit two home runs. The third scorecard records a Roger Maris home run on September 7th), 1964 (10, including a Mantle home-run game on June 14th against the White Sox), 1965 (11, including a Mantle home-run game on September 4th against Boston), 1966 (8, one is scored for a minor-league game), 1967 (4), 1968 (2, including a game on May 30th against Washington in which Mantle went 5-5 with two home runs), 1969 (2). Also included in the collection is a special 1965 Mickey Mantle Day large-format fold-over program (Vg).
