Two original 1920s news photos, each picturing an aerial view of Yankee Stadium. 1) 1923 shot of Yankee Stadium taken just prior to the start of the first World Series in that stadium's history. Issued by Copper & Brass. A date stamp reading "Oct 12 1923" appears on the reverse. The original paper news caption remains affixed to the reverse. The photo (10 x 8 inches) displays a corner chip in the lower right, as well a few additional border tears and creases. In Very Good condition. 2) 1928 photo of Yankee Stadium picturing the crowd of 83,000 at the opening game of the World Series against the Cardinals. An Underwood & Underwood stamp appears on the reverse, as does an "Oct 5 1928" date stamp. The original paper news caption remains affixed to the reverse. The photo (10 x 8 inches) displays a tiny chip in the lower left corner, as well as a few slight creases and minor rippling. In Very Good condition overall. Total: 2 photos. Reserve $100.
