1924 Walter Johnson World Series Photo Collection (3) - Direct Johnson Family Provenance!

Collection of three original Walter Johnson photographs (8 x 10 inches) taken during the 1924 World Series. Each of these photos originates directly from a Johnson family member and has been in the family's possession since 1924. Two of the photos picture Johnson posing in front of a car decorated with a large floral arrangement, while the third captures him posing together with Giants pitcher Art Nehf. (Johnson and Nehf were the Game 1 starters in the 1924 World Series.) One of the photos picturing Johnson in front of the car is affixed to a slightly larger paper backing, along the base of which is the handwritten notation "Everybody Happy! (before the game!)." The photo of Johnson and Nehf bears an International Newsreel credit stamp on the reverse, while the remaining photo that is not mounted features an NEA Service, Inc., credit stamp on the reverse. In Very Good condition overall, with each displaying a number of light-to-moderate creases. Total: 3 photos. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $415
