1911 T205 Gold Border Frank Chance PSA NM-MT 8
Starting Bid - $2,000, Sold For - $4,444
Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Ultra high-grade example of Hall of Famer Frank Chance of the Chicago Cubs. This is one of only four examples graded at this impressive level with just a single MINT 9 graded higher out of 319 cards evaluated to date. For all subjects, of the 28,988 T205 Gold Borders graded in the history of PSA to date, only 180 have graded PSA 8, with just eight cards (four NM-MT+ 8.5 and four MINT 9) grading higher which makes this significant Hall of Famer even more noteworthy. Bright, crisp, and clean, with brilliant colors, near-perfect registration, excellent centering (very slightly to the bottom), and four sharp corners with almost imperceptible hints of wear at the extreme tips. The Piedmont reverse of the card is also perfectly bright and clean, centered to the bottom, and without even the slightest hint of tobacco staining. This is a very sharp high-grade T205 Hall of Famer example from this condition sensitive set. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $6,500. Reserve $2,000. Estimate $4,000+. SOLD FOR $4,444
