1950s Hall of Fame Multisigned Baseball Including Foxx, P. Waner, Clarke, and DiMaggio
Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $1,659
Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue ink by the following ten Hall of Fame players: Foxx (sweet spot), Grove (sweet spot), DiMaggio, Hubbell, Simmons, Hartnett, Gehringer, McCarthy, P. Waner (twice on the same panel), and Clarke. This is a particularly outstanding early Hall of Famer signed ball, including the signatures of many Hall of Famers that passed away in the 1950s and 1960s that are rarely seen together on a ball. The signature of longtime Yankees announcer Mel Allen also appears on a side panel, indicating that this ball might have been obtained at a Yankees Old Timers' Day Game, although it also could have been signed at one of the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies in the 1950s. Signatures range from "6" to "9," averaging "7/8." Based upon the stampings, this ball dates to the 1946-1959 manufacturing period. Excellent to Mint condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $1,659
