1950s Ted Williams Single-Signed Baseball
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $711
Vintage Wilson "Ted Williams Speed Ball," signed by Williams in blue ink (grading "7") across the sweet spot. Williams' facsimile signature is stamped on a side panel, which also notes the he is a member of the Wilson Advisory Board. Ted Williams single-signed balls dating from his playing career have always been appreciated by advanced collectors and they stand in stark contrast to the many thousands that entered the hobby during the "signing show boom" in the 1980s and 1990s. The ball has a stray ink notation on a side panel, minor staining, and a small stain and abrasion on separate side panel. In Good to Very Good condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $711
