1933 R319 Goudey #53 Babe Ruth

Starting Bid - $500, Sold For - $2,666

Graded VG 40 by SGC. Extremely attractive example of one of Babe Ruth’s most classic cards: #53 with yellow background from the 1933 Goudey series. The "yellow background" pose of Babe Ruth is, without a doubt, his most difficult to obtain and sought-after card in the 1933 Goudey set. This is a very bright and clean card, with even wear to all four corners, and centered slightly to the left. The back is also clean, with bold green print set against a white background. This is a very pleasing VG example of one of Babe Ruth's most classic cards from the popular 1933 Goudey Gum series, and one that offers collectors an outstanding opportunity to acquire a great-looking iconic Babe Ruth card at a fraction of the cost of a higher-graded example. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grade is $2,350. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,666
