1910-1911 T3 Turkey Red #78 Frank "Home Run" Baker SGC EX 60 - Highest Graded!

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $948

Graded EX 60 by SGC. Highest-graded example! Exceptional high-grade example of Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Famer Frank "Home Run" Baker from the T3 Turkey Red set, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and impressive card sets ever issued. Few realize that the image on this card is not actually Frank Baker. The image actually features teammate Jack Barry, but was intended to feature Baker, and is generally treated and valued by collectors as a Frank Baker card despite the identification error by Turkey Red card designers. T3s rarely survive in this high grade, let alone examples of the key stars of the set. The offered example is outstanding in every way with brilliant colors, flawless surface, perfect centering, and light, even wear to the corners (most noticeable to the upper right). The checklist back (with offer) is entirely clean. This is an extraordinary high-grade example of Hall of Famer "Home Run" Baker from this classic prewar set. The equivalent SMR value in the assigned grade is $1,250. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $948
