1909-1911 T206 White Border Near-Complete Set (449/524)

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $21,330

36% Vg (including a few Vg-Ex), 28% Gd, and 36% Pr to Fr (including some with a slight trim). This partial set of T206 White Borders is comprised of 449 of the 524 cards in the set. The T206 set, of course, is also highlighted by literally dozens of Hall of Famers, including Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Nap Lajoie, Christy Mathewson, and Walter Johnson. Impressively, this partial set is missing only four of the seventy-six Hall of Famers (two of which are Plank and Wagner), and it also includes a very tough front/back combination of Carl Lundgren/Chicago with an El Principe de Gales back. Although in mixed grade, this collection is extremely pleasing throughout. The seventy-five missing cards include Wagner, Plank, Magie, and Doyle (the "big 4"), as well as the following: Brashear, Burke, Carr, Chance/red, Cobb/bat on, Demmitt/St. Louis, Elberfeld/Wash. port., Flanagan, Hall, Hayden, Lattimore, McGinley, Merritt, F. Mitchell, H. Moran, O'Hara/St. Louis, Overall/port., Phelan, Schirm, Seymour/throwing, A. Shaw, J. White, Wiltse/with cap, and the forty-eight Southern Leaguers. This is a beautiful T206 partial set in desirable consistent grade offering an exceptional value. We have selected ten cards to be graded and encapsulated by SGC. The key cards (including seventy-two Hall of Famers) grade as follows: Baker (Vg), Beckley (Vg), Bender/no trees (Vg-Ex, partial name showing at top, Polar Bear), Bender/trees (Vg), Bender/port.
