1909-1911 T206 White Border Collection (122 Different)

Starting Bid - $400, Sold For - $2,133

Collection of 122 different T206 White Borders (representing nearly one-quarter of a complete set!), highlighted by seventeen Hall of Famers. All but two cards feature a Sweet Caporal reverse. This collection ranges in grade from Pr to Gd with many cards presenting at a superior level but technically downgraded due to flaws on the reverse such as writing, paper loss, or album residue. Keys (Pr unless noted): Bresnahan/bat, Bresnahan/port. (Auth), Brown/port., Chance/yellow, Chase/blue (Gd), Chase/black cap, Clarke/port., Crawford/throwing, G. Davis (Fr), Duffy, Griffith/port., Huggins/hands at mouth, Jennings/both hands (Gd+), Kelley, Lajoie/with bat (Auth), Marquard/follow-through, McGraw/finger in air (Auth), Walsh, and Willis/port. This is a very substantial recently discovered group of relatively affordable cards from "the olden days," a little rough but still very collectible, and ideal for the collector who does not want to spend a fortune, but wants real, original circa 1910 tobacco cards which capture the spirit of the history of the game and collecting. We enjoy offering low-grade groups like these because they make collecting the most classic baseball-card issues possible and more accessible to a wider audience. Total: 122 cards.Reserve $400. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $2,133
