1903 E107 Breisch-Williams Roy Thomas
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $2,133
Graded FAIR 20 by SGC. Rare sample card from the legendary E107 Breisch-Williams series featuring outfielder Roy Thomas from the Philadelphia Phillies of the National League. (Note: This card is misidentified in early versions of The Standard Catalog and on the SGC label as "Ira Thomas," who did not begin his Major League career until 1906 with the NY Highlanders.) Striking, well-centered portrait of Thomas. Clean and crisp, with even wear to the corners, excellent centering, and no creases. Presents as Vg but downgraded due to writing on the reverse which reads "E107/1900-03 era/scarce." The boldly printed reverse also features the Breisch-Williams purple ink overprint. A very attractive example from this elusive set. Reserve $200. Estimate (open). SOLD FOR $2,133
