1911 T205 Gold Border Tris Speaker PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $2,500, Sold For - $8,888

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Classic Tris Speaker card from T205 Gold Borders, one of the most popular of all 1910-era tobacco issues, in exceptionally high grade for this issue. Speaker has always been an extremely desirable T205, as one of the key Hall of Famers in the set and for his popularity among Red Sox team collectors. This is without question the finest T205 Speaker that REA has ever handled. It is exceptional in every way. The card displays almost no hint of wear to any of the corners, and the delicate gold borders, which are so easily prone to chipping, are without any white whatsoever showing. Striking colors with perfect registration and centering. Clean, boldly printed Piedmont advertising reverse. The offered card is a tremendous condition rarity within the set as it is one of only six examples graded at this level by PSA with only one higher out of 283 cards evaluated to date. Even more impressively, only 188 cards (of any subject) have graded NM-MT 8 or higher out of 28,988 cards graded to date by PSA which makes this important Hall of Fame card particularly more noteworthy. This is a stunning ultra high-grade example of one of the key Hall of Famers from this extremely condition-sensitive set. The SMR value is $10,500. Reserve $2,500. Estimate $5,000+. SOLD FOR $8,888
