1974 Topps Baseball Near-Complete Wax Box (26 Packs)
Starting Bid - $300, Sold For - $2,015
Near-complete original unopened wax box of 1974 Topps baseball ("Bonus Team Checklist Inside" wrapper style). The box houses twenty-six packs (missing ten for completion) with each pack containing eight cards and a team checklist, for a total of 233 cards (one pack has been opened and is missing one card). The 1974 Topps set features the rookie card of Hall of Famer Dave Winfield, and many other stars, including Schmidt, Aaron, Ryan, and Jackson. While it is impossible to provide guarantees with reference to grading of unopened material, there is, of course, the very real possibility that within this box are Gem Mint cards of these stars. All the other stars of the day are also included. Twenty-two of the interior packs are in Nr-Mt condition or better. One pack has early stage loosening of the seal but still displays well and three packs are opened entirely. The box is in Very Good to Excellent condition with shelf wear visible along the edges, light creasing on the front and back panel, and the top die-cut panel punched out as intended. Also included is the salesman insert sheet explaining Topps' new single-series concept. Total: 26 packs. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $2,015
