Three 1971 Topps Baseball Uncut Sheets (132 cards per sheet - missing 3 cards)
Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $3,555
Three original 1971 Topps uncut final production sheets, one each from the first, second, and seventh series of this popular set. Each sheet is designed to include a total of 132 cards arranged in eleven rows of twelve cards. Several Hall of Famers and stars are featured twice on these sheets, including first-series cards of Willie McCovey, Jim Hunter, and several League Leaders, the second-series card of Al Kaline, and the seventh-series rookie card of Don Baylor/Dusty Baker. Two sheets have had one and two cards, respectively, neatly cut from them: the first-series sheet is missing two cards (Carlton and Fosse) and the second-series sheet is missing one card (Briles). All three sheets present with exceptional visual appeal, maintaining the same vibrant colors and display value as they did more than forty years ago. Technical flaws are visible on the sheets along the borders and at the corners, including tears and creasing, as well as wrinkling and creasing on some of the interior cards (including a heavy crease one-third of the way along the bottom portion of the seventh-series sheet), all commonly found in sheets due to their large size. These sheets are ideal for display and present relatively affordable alternatives to problem-free examples and would make excellent companion pieces to any 1971 Topps complete set or additions to any uncut-sheet collection. Dimensions: 28.5 x 43 inches. Total: 3 sheets. Reserve $200. Estimate $500+. SOLD FOR $3,555
