Original-owner collection of forty-eight cards comprised of football and nonsport cards spanning the years 1934 to 1941. Eleven different issues are represented, including some of the most classic and popular of all sets from this era. This collection consists of the following: 1) 1934 R136 National Chicle "Sky Birds" (4 cards): #20, 24, 26, and 58. 2) 1935 R147 Schutter Johnson "Tarzan and the Crystal Vault of Isis" (12 cards): Three #1, two 2, two 10, two 11, 24, 25, and 35. 3) 1935 R331 National Chicle Football (2 cards): #7 Strong RC and 30. 4) 1935 R89 Mickey Mouse Bubble Gum (5 cards): #15, 36, and three 43. 5) 1935 R108 "Pulver Pictures" (1 card): #108. 6) 1936 R60 Gum, Inc. "G-Men Heroes of the Law" (1 card): #233. 7) 1936 R109 Pirate's Picture Bubble Gum (1 card): #12. 8) 1938 R69 Gum, Inc. "Horrors of War" (6 cards): #175, 178, 207, 220, 284, and 288. 9) 1939 R173 Gum, Inc. "The World In Arms" (2 cards): Airplanes #2 and 6. 10) 1940 R145 Gum, Inc. "Superman" (13 cards): #6, 10, two 11, 19, 23, 25, 29, 32, 42, 47, and two 48. 11) 1941 R158 Gum, Inc. "Uncle Sam's Home Defense" (1 card): #115. This is a well-loved group of cards consigned by the family of the original owner. Almost all of the cards are in Poor condition with heavy creasing, surface wear, or other severe condition flaws. Still, this is a fascinating and (due to condition) relatively affordable collection of cards from these popular 1930s and 1940s gum-card sets, direct from the family of the original collector who saved them as a youngster!
