Starting Bid - $200, Sold For - $1,185
Impressive and rare oval tin advertising display, designed to hang on the walls of a tobacco store, promoting for Allen & Ginter's "Richmond Straight Cut Cigarettes." The sign features the famous "Allen & Ginter logo man" enjoying a smoke in the days before anyone knew any better. Incredible quality to the manufacture of this tin sign, which is self-framed and measures an impressive 23 x 29 inches. The size and quality of the display makes this a premier vintage point-of-sale tobacco advertising piece, and the fact that it advertises for Allen & Ginter gives it all the more appeal to collectors. There is moderate wear to both the border frame and central image area, including a few light scratches and surface blemishes. In Very Good condition. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $1,185
