1911-1912 C55 Imperial Tobacco Hockey #20 Fred "Cyclone" Taylor PSA NM 7
Starting Bid - $1,500, Sold For - $3,259
Graded NM 7 by PSA. Exceptional, high-grade example of Hall of Famer Fred "Cyclone" Taylor from the C55 Imperial Tobacco hockey set. One of five graded at this level with only two higher out of 127 cards evaluated to date. The colorful C55 set is the most sought-after of the three early "C" hockey sets because of the issue's rarity, design, and the tremendous player selection, highlighted by twenty-two Hall of Famers and several key rookie cards. The offered example of Taylor displays brilliant colors, perfect white borders, and four very strong corners (three are sharp while the bottom right shows light wear). Crisp, flawless image, and centered to the left. Clean, boldly printed reverse. This is an outstanding example of this significant early hockey card and one that would make an excellent addition to any C55 set or Hall of Fame collection. The SMR value for the assigned grade is $3,900. Reserve $1,500. Estimate $3,000+. SOLD FOR $3,259
