Circa 1961 New York Titans (Jets) Pennant
Starting Bid - $100, Sold For - $178
This early 1960s New York Titans pennant dates to the club's first three seasons (1960-1962) as an inaugural member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963 the club changed its name to the New York Jets, which it has retained to this day. The blue-felt pennant features a gold-painted generic player to the left, with the team name, "New York Titans," printed to the right. The pennant (29 inches in length) displays minor fading and soiling. The painted areas display only the slightest amount of crazing. In Excellent condition overall. This is a rare souvenir dating from earliest days in Jets history. Reserve $100. Estimate $300+. SOLD FOR $178
