Autographed 1936 R314 "Wide Pen" Goudey Premium - DiMaggio/McCarthy

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $829.50

Rare autographed example of one of the key cards from the 1936 R314 Goudey Wide Pen Premium set: DiMaggio/McCarthy. Both DiMaggio and McCarthy have signed the card in blue ink, with each signature grading "9/10." This is the first dual-signed example of this classic 1930s gum-card premium that we have ever seen, let alone offered. It is also one of DiMaggio's earliest cards, dating from his 1936 rookie season. The blank-back card (5.5 x 3.25) displays both light corner and edge wear, grading Vg-Ex. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with the signatures labeled "Authentic" (neither the autographs nor the card were graded by the company). LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $829.50
