This ball features the signatures of twenty-five New York Yankees players, some of whom played with the club in the 1940s and others who are Yankees old-timers who had played with the team in the 1930s or earlier. The official American League (Harridge) ball (the ball itself dates from the 1940 to 1945 manufacturing period) has been signed in blue fountain pen by the following twenty-five players: Joe DiMaggio (black ink, sweet spot), Frank Baker, Earle Combs, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, Bud Metheny, Johnny Lindell, Nick Etten, Buddy Hassett, George Stirnweiss, Sam Byrd, Joe Glenn, Spud Chandler, Monte Pearson, Joe Page (black ink), Red Rolfe, Hank Borowy, Eddie Farrell, Art Jorgens, Bill Johnson, Marius Russo, Dusty Cooke, Russ Van Atta, Bump Hadley, and Lyn Lary. Signatures range from "3" to "8," averaging "7." The manufacturer's labels are light, but legible, and the ball remains in Excellent condition. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300.
