1939 Boston Red Sox Team-Signed Ball with Yawkey, Duffy, Foxx, and Grove
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $711.00
Reach "Official League" ball signed in black fountain pen by the following eleven members of the 1939 Boston Red Sox: Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Hugh Duffy (coach/scout), Joe Cronin, Eddie Collins, Tom Yawkey (team owner), Doc Cramer, Joe Vosmik, Eldon Auker, Gene Desautels (sweet spot), and Jim Tabor. Signatures range from "3" to "7," averaging "4/5." While this is not the most complete ball in terms of number of signatures, it more than makes up for it with regard to which signatures are present. No less than six Hall of Famers are represented here, including Duffy and Yawkey, both of whose signatures are rare on a baseball. The ball is moderately toned, with a few minor surface blemishes, and the manufacturer's stampings remain bright and legible. In Very Good to Excellent condition. Full LOA from PSA/DNA and LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $711.00
