Circa 1934 Babe Ruth Signed Autograph Album Page

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,251.50

Autograph album page signed on one side by Babe Ruth and Russ Van Atta, and on the other side by Ray Pepper. All of the players have signed the sheet in black fountain pen, with Ruth's signature grading "8/9." The signatures of Van Atta and Pepper grade "8" and "7," respectively. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA, with the signatures certified as "Authentic." Ruth and Van Atta only played together with the Yankees in 1933 and 1934, while Pepper's career spanned six seasons (1932-1935), all of which were spent in St. Louis with both the Cardinals and the Browns. Given that information, it seems almost certain that the autographs were obtained sometime in either 1933 or 1934, while Ruth and Van Atta were together in New York. The sheet (4.5 x 5.5) is lightly toned, with a slightly irregular top border resulting from its removal from the album. In Excellent condition overall. LOA from James Spence/JSA. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $2,251.50
