1888 N162 Goodwin Champions Cap Anson

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $2,962.50

Graded VG+ 3.5 by PSA. Extremely attractive example of Cap Anson from the colorful 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions set. Anson is the key card from this very popular fifty-card set issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. This example is bright and crisp, with flawless colors and perfect registration. The corners display mild, even wear and the card is free of any creasing or wrinkling normally found on cards graded at this level. The reverse shows light toning and a few tiny areas of paper loss near the bottom. This card presents a great opportunity to acquire an extremely attractive example of one of the most classic of all nineteenth-century baseball cards. The SMR value for a PSA VG 3 is $2,650 (there is no SMR value listed for VG+ 3.5). Reserve $500. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,962.50
