1967 Topps Red Sox Stickers PSA-Graded Near-Complete Set (32/33)
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,066.50
In 1967, when Topps decided to devote a small test issue to the Boston Red Sox, it had no idea that the team would bounce back from their ninth place finish in the American League the year before and go on to complete one of the greatest turnarounds in baseball history. "The Impossible Dream" season culminated with an American League Pennant, a trip to the World Series for the first time in two decades, and numerous awards bestowed upon players, including the AL MVP to slugger Carl Yastrzemski. This 32-card near-complete set is missing only #1 for completion and features head shots of players floating above their names along with colorful logos and slogans such as "I Love The Red Sox" and "Happiness is a Boston Win." The cards measure the same as their standard Topps counterparts but are on a thinner stock with removable backing. The PSA grades are as follows: Eight MINT 9: #2, 8, 10, 12 (GAI MINT 9), 18, 25 Yastrzemski (GAI MINT 9), 26, 33. One NM-MT+ 8.5: #11. Fifteen NM-MT 8: #4, 6, 7, 13, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 28, 31, 32. Six NM 7: #5, 9, 14, 15, 27, 29 Yastrzemski For Mayor. One EX-MT 6: #30 Conigliaro (OC). One EX 5: #3. These are not often seen graded (to date only 1,356 cards total have been graded by PSA) and are not listed by SMR. The VCP value exceeds $1,000. Total: 32 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500++.
