1888 N162 Goodwin Champions SGC-Graded Collection (3)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $1,422.00

Offered are three baseball players (out of eight ballplayers in the set) from the 1888 N162 Goodwin Champions set, all graded and encapsulated by SGC: 1) Brouthers (FAIR 20, surface wrinkling on front, small area of paper loss on reverse top left, and light toning); 2) Caruthers (VG/EX+ 55, bold color, even wear to corners, tiny ink bleed on reverse), and 3) Keefe (POOR 10, bold color, even wear to corners; as can easily be seen this is a beautiful card that appears Vg-Ex but has been downgraded by SGC due to a large area of paper loss on reverse). All three cards have tremendous eye-appeal. This is a very attractive trio of cards, including two Hall of Famers, from this highly prized set, which is considered by many to be the single most beautiful of all the nineteenth-century tobacco issues. Total: 3 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000++. SOLD FOR $1,422.00
