1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chip Mickey Mantle SGC NM+ 86

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $2,370.00

Graded NM+ 86 by SGC. Exceptional high-grade example of 1954 Dan-Dee Mickey Mantle, one of the most attractive of all Mantle cards, and also one of the most difficult to find in high grade. Dan-Dee cards were issued one card per package with Dan-Dee Potato Chips. They are usually found with serious condition problems relating to this method of issue, including creases and potato-chip grease stains. This is a stunning high-grade Dan-Dee of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set. Flawlessly clean both front and back, with bold colors, and an undisturbed, clean, even wax coating. Centered slightly to the upper left with four sharp corners. This is a particularly outstanding example of one of the keys of all 1950s food issues, and one of the most highly prized of all Mantle cards. SMR does not list prices for half-grades, but the equivalent SMR value of a NM 7 is $2,900 and a NM-MT 8 is $6,000. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000+. SOLD FOR $2,370.00
