1954 Topps Complete Set (250) with 23 PSA-Graded Cards

Starting Bid - $1,000.00, Sold For - $3,851.25

60% range from Vg-Ex to Ex-Mt (averaging Ex overall) with a few Nr/Mt, 40% Vg (includes a few slightly lesser). The 1954 Topps set is highlighted by the rookie cards of Hall of Famers Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, and Al Kaline, and is universally recognized as one of the most popular and classic of all 1950s baseball-card sets. This is an extremely attractive mixed-grade complete set of 1954 Topps baseball. Of the 250 cards in the set, twenty-three (9%) have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (except one Beckett), including many key cards (both Williams, Aaron, Banks, and Kaline). Keys: #1 Williams (VG 3), 3 Irvin (Gd-Vg), 7 Kluszewski (Vg), 10 Robinson (VG-EX 4), 13 Martin (EX-MT 6), 17 Rizzuto (Fr), 20 Spahn (Vg), 30 Mathews (VG-EX 4), 32 Snider (EX-MT 6), 36 Wilhelm (Vg), 37 Ford (Gd), 45 Ashburn (EX 5), 50 Berra (NM 7), 70 Doby (Vg), 86 Herman (Vg-Ex), 90 Mays (VG-EX 4 [MC]), 94 Banks RC (EX 5), 102 Hodges (no bottom border, otherwise Vg), 128 Aaron (EX-MT 6), 132 Lasorda RC (Vg), 139 O'Brien Bros. (EX-MT 6), 166 Podres (EX 5), 183 Combs (EX+ 5.5), 187 Manush (Gd), 201 Kaline (Beckett Vg), 239 Skowron RC (EX 5), and 250 Williams (VG 3 [MK]). Other PSA-graded cards (all EX-MT 6): #11, 131, 140, 145, 189, 197, and 210. Vintage sets in this grade are especially desirable, representing an exceptional value. Beautiful set with few upgrades needed. This is a very attractive mixed-grade set of this classic Topps issue, loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1950s. The SMR value for just the seventeen cards graded PSA NM 7, EX-MT 6, EX+ 5.5, or EX 5 is $2,097 (not including the two PSA VG 3s of Williams, the three cards graded PSA VG-EX 4 including Robinson, Mathews, and Mays, the Kaline rookie graded by Beckett, or the balance of 227 cards in the set!). Total: 250 cards. Reserve $1,000. Estimate $2,000/$3,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851.25
