1954 Bowman Near-Complete Set (215 of 224 cards) Including #66 Ted Williams

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $5,332.50

Extremely sharp looking near-complete set of 1954 Bowman (215 of the 224 cards in the set). 65% Ex to Ex-Mt , 27% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 8% lesser (mostly Gd). Missing just nine cards for completion (#35, 63, 217, 218, 219, 220, 221, 222, and 224). This is a very attractive mid-grade set of one of the most overlooked (and compared to many other sets, most reasonably valued) classic bubble-gum card issues from the golden age of the 1950s. The #66 Ted Williams is the key card to the 1954 Bowman set and one of the legendary key cards among all postwar gum cards. We have selected nine cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: #1 Rizzuto (Vg), 6 Fox (Vg-Ex), 15 Ashburn (Vg), 45 Kiner (Ex), 50 Kell (Vg), 57 Wilhelm (Vg), 58 Reese (Vg), 62 Slaughter (Vg-Ex), 64 Mathews (SGC EX 60), 65 Mantle (SGC EX 60), 66a Williams (SGC EX/NM 80), 84 Doby (Vg), 89 Mays (SGC EX 60), 90 Campanella (SGC EX+ 70), 95 Roberts (Vg), 110 Schoendienst (Vg-Ex), 132 Feller (SGC EX/NM 80), 138 Hodges (Ex), 145 Martin (Vg-Ex), 154 Newcombe (Ex), 161 Berra (SGC VG/EX 50), 164 Wynn (Ex-Mt), 170 Snider (SGC EX/NM 80), 177 Ford (SGC NM 84), and 196 Lemon (Ex+). The equivalent SMR value for just the nine SGC-graded cards (not including the 206 ungraded cards) is $2,305. Total: 215 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $5,332.50
