1952 Bowman #101 Mickey Mantle SGC NM+ 86

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $7,110.00

Graded NM+ 86 by SGC. A stunning example of one of collecting's most classic cards, the 1952 Bowman #101 Mickey Mantle. This card was purchased by our consignor at an early card show in the 1980s and it has not seen the light of day since! Submitted for grading by REA. This is a very strong example of this card, easily deserving of its high grade, and perhaps just a hair away from a higher grade. The corners are near-perfect with just a faint corner line visible in the top left. The colors are bright, crisp, and absolutely flawless. The card is clean, front and back, with snow-white borders and almost imperceptible print spots in the area of the arms, mentioned only for the sake of accuracy. The registration is flawless. The centering, both front and back, is virtually perfect, and not even the slightest hint of gum or wax stains, which are so common with 1952 Bowmans, is present. This is an exceptional high grade example in all respects of one of Mickey Mantle's most important cards, and one of the most recognizable cards in all of card collecting. The equivalent SMR value is $2,600. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000/$2,000. SOLD FOR $7,110.00
