1933 R338 Sport Kings #1 Ty Cobb

Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $711.00

Graded EX+ 5.5 by GAI. Extremely attractive example of one of Ty Cobb's most striking and sought-after cards, from one of the most popular sets of the 1930s. Bright and clean, both front and back, with a crisp, perfectly registered image of Cobb. The card has light, even wear to the corners and along the right edge (appears to a rubber-band mark), and is centered slightly to the left. The Sport Kings is one of Cobb’s most popular and majestic cards. Being the number-one card in the set, this card naturally gravitated to the top of the stack, usually exposing it to extra wear and handling, and thus making high-grade examples even more difficult to find than most other Sport Kings and other Cobb cards. This is a very presentable example of this classic Cobb card, with strong eye-appeal. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000. SOLD FOR $711.00
