1933 R319 Goudey #223 Dizzy Dean PSA NM 7
Starting Bid - $400.00, Sold For - $1,422.00
Graded NM 7 by PSA. High-grade example of the classic 1933 Goudey #223 Dizzy Dean. Regarded by many as the greatest pitcher of all time, Dean’s pitching career began in 1932, and was brief but spectacular. Between 1932 and 1936 he won 120 games, including thirty in 1934. He was also one of the game’s most popular and irrepressible characters, and the central figure of St. Louis’ legendary “Gas House Gang” of the 1930s. Rich, deep colors and bright, white borders. Centered slightly to the right, with near-perfect registration. Strong corners, and a clean, boldly printed reverse. Dizzy Dean appears in far fewer quality baseball-card sets than many other extremely significant Hall of Famers, such as Ruth and Cobb. This is a very attractive high-grade PSA example of one of the most popular Hall of Famers of the 1930s, and one that would be an excellent addition to virtually any 1933 Goudey PSA Registry set or Hall of Fame collection. SMR is $1,350. Reserve $400. Estimate $800+. SOLD FOR $1,422.00
