1929 R316 Kashin Publications Collection (46) Including Ruth and Gehrig
Starting Bid - $300.00, Sold For - $1,303.50
Original-owner collection of forty-six different 1929 R316 Kashin Publication cards, including thirteen Hall of Famers, highlighted by examples of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The popular R316 large-style card (3.5 x 4.5 inches) set consists of 101 different Major Leaguers. This group is comprised of cards far nicer than often found for this issue. All of these cards are fresh, clean, very impressive examples. We have downgraded some cards from Ex (or better) condition mostly due to very light creases. Keys: Berg (Ex), Bottomley (Vg-Ex), Combs (Gd), Faber (Vg+), Gehrig (the tips of the corners are clipped and small surface chip of paper loss on the upper right, otherwise Vg-Ex), Grove (Pr), Hoyt (Vg), Klein (Gd), Ott (Fr), Ruffing (Vg-Ex), Ruth (Vg), J. Sewell (Vg), Simmons (Vg), and Wilson (Vg). The balance of the cards grade Vg+ overall. The unusual dimensions and high-quality photographs used to produce these cards make them among the most distinctive of all 1920s issues. This is a very clean, impressive group of cards, which includes a particularly high concentration of Hall of Famers. Total: 46 cards. Reserve $300. Estimate $500/$1,000+. SOLD FOR $1,303.50
