1920 Zeenut PCL Near-Complete Set (146/152) Including Sam Crawford

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $10,072.50

Near-complete set of 146 of the 152 different 1920 Zeenut cards featuring Pacific Coast League players highlighted by Hall of Famer Sam Crawford in one of the few cards depicting him during his PCL playing days. Missing only six cards for completion (Alcock, Compton, Kopp, Matterson, Orr, and Stump). The 1920 Zeenut set is comprised of players from eight different teams (Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Vernon). A near-complete set such as this is very rarely seen. Condition is 11% Vg-Ex or better, 37% Vg, and 52% Fr to Gd with some lesser. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC. Keys: Bohne (Gd), Crawford (GOOD 30), Pertica (EX 60), and Winn (VG+ 45). As is usually the case with Zeenuts, the coupon at the bottom of each card has been clipped away, as intended, to be redeemed for valuable prizes. This near-complete set is part of a large original-owner Zeenut collection, consigned to this auction by the family of the gentleman who collected these cards as a child, which we have broken down into smaller lots by year. Total: 146 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+.
