1916 H801-9 Globe Clothing Store Collection Including Three Hall of Famers (29 cards)

Starting Bid - $500.00, Sold For - $3,851.25

Collection of twenty-nine different cards from the 1916 H801-9 Globe Clothing Store set, highlighted by three Hall of Famers. This set is identical to M101-4 Sporting News except for the different advertisement on the reverse. Though M101-4s are listed in the American Card Catalog as being issued with various backs, Jefferson Burdick elected to assign the Globe backs their own catalog number (H801-9). While Globes are not the toughest of the advertising backs found among M101-4 cards, they are also not the easiest. This is the largest collection of exclusively Globe-backed cards that we have ever offered. We have selected three cards to be graded by SGC; the balance of the collection includes twenty Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt and six Ex. The collection consists of the following: #23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34 Collins (HOF, EX+ 70), 37, 41 Crawford (HOF, EX 60), 42, 44, 45, 47, 48, 50, 52, 55 Faber (HOF, VG/EX 50), 57, 58, 59, 63, 66, 67, 68, 70, 71, 74, 75, 77, and 80. An exceptional, high-grade group of these desirable prewar cards. Consigned directly from the family of legendary collector Paul Pollard. Total: 29 cards. Reserve $500. Estimate $1,000+. SOLD FOR $3,851.25
