1910 T212 Obak "175 Subjects" Daringer PSA NM-MT 8

Starting Bid - $200.00, Sold For - $948.00

Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Only example at this level with none higher and one of only three 1910 T212 Obak Tobacco cards (of any player) to ever grade NM-MT 8 (out of 1,775 evaluated to date). Two of the three PSA 8 examples are presented in this auction, each individually. Ultra high-grade example of Daringer from the T212 Obak "175 Subjects" series. Obaks are among the most popular of all early card issues featuring players from the Pacific Coast League. While catalogued simply as T212, Obaks were actually issued over a period of three years, from 1909 to 1911, and are really three sets. Cards from the 1910 set are easily distinguished by the blue printing on their backs. The offered example is stunning in every respect. Bright, bold colors, crisp image, and flawless registration. Near-perfect centering and sharp corners. Clean, boldly printed "They Excel" reverse. This is an exceptional card, worthy of its incredible high grade, and one of the finest examples of a T212 Obak in existence. Reserve $200. Estimate $400+. SOLD FOR $948.00
